Depression treatment for even the lowest lows.
What’s The Good News?
It’s Treatable
Research has shown that both cognitive behavioral therapy and medication based treatments can be effective in treating even chronic depression. So you’re not stuck with these symptoms forever.
You’re Not Alone
Rates of depression are rising in our modern world - so you’re hardly the odd one out. In fact, nearly 1 in 5 adults in the US have experienced depression just in the past year.
This is Progress Already
Depression can leave you stuck feeling like “what’s point?” By even considering opening up about your depression symptoms - you’ve already taken the first step toward feeling better.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Depression Treatment for Your Specific Type of Depression
Because not all types of depression are the same, we offer specific treatments designed for different types of depressive disorders. We use CBT therapy, a depression treatment protocol backed by research, so you don’t have to worry about wasting time and money “just talking.”
Situational Depression Treatment
Situational depression, also known as Major Depressive Disorder, means you’re experiencing low mood, lack of energy, loss of motivation, and loss of joy - typically after going through a stressful experience. In other words, it feels like you’re stuck in a funk and little by little, things may start to seem more pointless or hopeless. This often makes it hard to do things even though you know you should (like your to-do list, spending time with people, or taking care of yourself). If you’re like most people experiencing situational depression, you may have tried drinking more, sleeping more, or just distracting yourself hoping it will lift on its own. If it still hasn’t lifted, we can help. With CBT therapy, we offer tools that go beyond the basics of taking a walk or starting a gratitude list. Depression treatment with us, using cognitive behavioral therapy, focuses on taking tiny steps to reactivate your nervous system using small successes so you can get back to more hopeful and energetic living (and less existing and surviving).

The Crisis Lifeline offers free, confidential support 24/7. You do NOT have to be actively suicidal to reach out for help. If it’s 2am and you just need someone to sit with you while you cry or just listen and not say the wrong thing - give them a call. Just let them know you need someone to talk to.
Chronic Depression Treatment
Chronic depression, also known as Persistent Depressive Disorder, means that for the past 2 YEARS (almost every day), in addition to feeling depressed, you’ve also been experiencing changes in appetite, struggling with insomnia or sleeping all day, low self-esteem, trouble concentrating and the ever present feeling that things are pointless or hopeless. In other words, everything feels exhausting, even things that used to bring you joy seem empty, or you just use them as more material to mentally beat yourself up. It’s extremely common for people with chronic depression to experience suicidal thoughts like “I wish I could go to sleep and not wake up” or “I just wish I wasn’t here anymore.” You might be trying everything you can to avoid your own thoughts by doing things like sleeping all day and all night, using drugs or alcohol to knock yourself out, or just zoning out. We know you just want to feel better, even if you’re not sure that’s possible. We’re used to working with people who start out feeling this hopeless and shut down. CBT therapy is not about training yourself to just think positively. With cognitive behavioral therapy, we focus on helping you to start making the tiniest incremental changes, so you can slowly bring your body, your mind, (and your ability to feel) back online.
Bipolar Treatment
Bipolar Disorder, also known as Manic Depression in the old days, is a repeated cycle of feeling amped and inspired followed by a feeling of lifeless despair. In other words, both the person who has Bipolar and the people around them, feel like they’re on a roller coaster - the higher it goes, the harder it falls. Many people with Bipolar try to self-medicate using uppers like cocaine or Adderall to get their energy back, followed by using alcohol or marijuana to bring them back down. If you’ve been trying this method, you might find the roller coaster never seems to end. CBT can equip you with tools to steer your mood without drugs and alcohol so you have more control over it. Bipolar treatment typically involves a combination of therapy and medication, once a diagnosis has been confirmed to rule out other causes for mood swings that don’t require medication. Most importantly, CBT therapy and bipolar treatment can help you bring down the intensity of the lows so you stay closer to baseline.
